At the Table
I fabricated the installation’s 7.5-foot custom dining table while designing and producing an accompanying collection of wooden and metal tabletop objects. Together, these elements explored how furniture, objects, and spatial arrangements shape gathering, conversation, and interaction.
My role also included social outreach, exhibition styling, and installation, spanning early concept development through the final event activation.
-
BRUNCH began as an investigation of brunch as a social ritual: a setting shaped by gathering, conversation, performance, and informal exchange.
Through field research in the dining industry, we examined how furniture, objects, and spatial arrangements influence the ways people interact.
-
The project was developed by a team of five in collaboration with the restaurant Frank & Laurie’s in Providence, Rhode Island.
We worked closely with the owners to develop an installation that embodied our collective design language while responded to the restaurant’s physical environment and social character.
-
The completed installation combined a custom dining table, wooden, metal, and ceramic tabletop objects, merchandise, floral styling, and guest-experience elements.
The work was activated through a two-hour public event at Frank & Laurie’s on May 26, 2026.
From Collection to Event
The installation was developed across multiple scales—from the architecture of the table to the objects placed on its surface and the visual details surrounding the event.
01
Furniture & Space
The custom 7.5-foot table established the physical center of the installation, creating a shared surface around which the event could unfold.
02
Objects & Tabletop
A collection of wooden and metal objects extended the installation to the scale of the hand, shaping the visual and physical experience of the table.
03
Identity & Atmosphere
Merchandise, floral interventions, and styling details connected the physical installation to the identity and atmosphere of the event.
The Experience
BRUNCH was activated through a two-hour public event at Frank & Laurie’s. Guests gathered around the table, interacted with the objects, shared food, and moved through an environment shaped specifically for the occasion.
The event transformed the project from a collection of designed components into a lived social experience—allowing furniture, objects, hospitality, and conversation to operate together.
